I wanted to write a note to all who might be interested. Our Family has a 1993 27' Fountain Fever with a Supercharged 502 Magnum. We live in Rochester New York which is on Lake Ontario. A few weeks ago we were out for a weekend picnic and the weather turned real nasty, real fast. If you have never experienced 8-10' waves with a 20' frequency on one of the great lakes, then you have no idea how dangerous boating can be. Needless to say we made it home safe and sound. On the evening news that night they reported that 4 boats had sank or overturned due to the extreme conditions. That is the moment that I realized how lucky we are to have an "entry level" Fountain. I was actually upset earlier that day that were only cruising at 45 mph in conditions that ultimately sank 4 other powerboats. Our family loves our 27 footer and dreams of the day when we can afford a new 38' Lightning. The photo was not taken on the day I mentioned above but just an average day on the Great Lakes! It seems that all of the boat magazines lately are concerned with the top speed of a boat, but I want to thank you for making the safest and best handling boats and protecting my family.
