I
know that Mr. Fountain
is a very busy man and
may or may not have
the time to read this
but I just wanted to
tell him how much I
like my Fountain boat!
I live
on a small lake is south
Georgia so I am restricted
to the size of boat
that I can have. I always
dreamed of owning a
27' Fever, well this
past June I purchased
a 1996 27' Fountain
Fever with the 500 hp
engine. Now we drag
race cars so I understand
engines and knew the
hp motor was the motor
to have in a boat.
Anyway
to make a long story
short, nobody could
understand why I wanted
to purchase a Fountain
and only a Fountain,
they said why don't
you buy a Baja or Velocity?
I said to them don't
you ever watch the boat
racing on television?
Don't you always see
a Fountain powerboat
out in front no matter
what class? Now I know
nothing about boat racing,
how to set up a boat,
or how to get the most
performance out of my
boat by trimming the
boat properly and so
on.
The cove
in where I live in is
full of Baja boats.
There are two guys with
the 24' H2X with the
optional 502 MPI motors,
and a good friend of
mine just bought an
2003 29' Baja outlaw
with the twin 496 mags.
Me being the only Fountain
on the lake you can't
imagine the tension
here towards me. I thought
to myself "DON'T
FAIL ME NOW LITTLE FOUNTAIN!!!"
Sure enough the 24'
Baja's were NO match
for my Fountain! I easily
outran them and they
went home a little unhappy!
Now here
is the best part of
this story and I can
only hope that Mr. Fountain
reads this!!! Now remember
the brand new 29' Baja
Outlaw I mentioned earlier?
Now to be perfectly
honest I did not think
that my single engine
27' boat would hold
a candle to his brand
new 29' with dual engines.
One Sunday afternoon
I took my wife and two
friends on a afternoon
cruise around the lake.
Now we had four grown
adults with a full tank
of gas. Sure enough
as fate would have it
I looked back and here
comes the 29' Outlaw
! My friend was waving
him on setting up a
race, I thought to myself
man we are going to
be embarrassed!!!! Now
he was by himself with
two small children in
the boat. I was going
about 38-40 MPH when
all of sudden I heard
him shower down and
go flying past us. Now
the water was rough
because of the Labor
Day weekend. I hammered
down my Fountain and
started trying to trim
the boat out and work
the tabs which I have
no experience with by
the way, and suddenly
he started slowing down
and we were catching
him at a very fast pace.
Now by the time that
we accelerated he was
a good 500 feet ahead
of us. As we were approaching
him on the left side
my friend said "@#$%"
we are going to pass
him! I thought that
he was laying back and
was going to pass us
back. I could tell that
when we passed by him
he sort of had this
look of disbelief!!!
Anyway we flat out OUT
RAN him!!!!!
Needless
to say this was one
of the greatest days
of my life!!! I proved
to all those other people
out there who doubted
Fountain, just what
Fountain stands for
and is all about. Which
is quality through and
through, unmatched speed
and comfort, and unbelievable
resale value.
I will
forever own a Fountain
Powerboat, bar none!!!
I just wanted to tell
Mr. Fountain personally
how much I enjoy my
Fountain.
Sincerely,
Chris
