Fountain Worldwide™ Earns A Nomination for the 2008 North Carolina Motorsports Association Awards
CONCORD, NC – November 5th 2007
Fountain Worldwide™, the exclusive international distributor for Fountain Powerboats, has earned a nomination for a prestigious award by the North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA). In addition to Richard Petty himself, who will receive the “Achievement in Motorsports” tribute award, 10 organizations will be awarded in distinct categories. Nominated in the “Large Company” category, Fountain Worldwide has been bestowed the honor of holding company with fellow nominees The Richard Petty Driving Experience and Stock Car Steel, a specialty metals supplier to nearly all of the NC-based NASCAR teams.
“To be honored with a nomination in a category with the likes of the Richard Petty Driving Experience and Stock Car Steel is an enormous honor in itself, and given that Fountain Worldwide is a nominee with only six months exposure to the nominating committee makes this even more special”, commented Tim McSwiney, Director of Business Development for Fountain Worldwide.
Fountain Worldwide™ was introduced to the NCMA in April of 2007 through their involvement with Derek Chen, Director of Motorsports Development for the North Carolina Dept. of Commerce. The Department of Commerce assists Fountain Worldwide™ with their unique business export model, whereby they utilize professional powerboat racing as a means to develop additional brand awareness for the international dealers of the famed NC based powerboat manufacturer. To pay homage to the support provided by the state of NC, Team Fountain Worldwide placed the North Carolina “State of Racing Logo” on the canopy of their race boat as they entered their 2007 championship season.
“To take a North Carolina manufactured product and achieve almost total domination around the world makes us very proud. We took great pleasure in not only flying the Fountain flag, but also being a part of the world famous N.C. racing heritage. The crowning of our World Championship in Portugal was an emotional moment for our family, as Craig Wilson became the third generation powerboat champion, further marking our family’s 50th year of involvement in the sport”, said Louise Martino, Vice President of Fountain Worldwide and proud sister to Craig Wilson.
The awards banquet will take place a few steps from the Lowes Motorspeedway in Concord, NC on the evening of January 31st, 2008.
