After
School's 41.82 Leads
Big Field at Boater's
World Stars and Stripers
Tournament
Wins $60,000 Mercury
Powered Fountain Boat!
5/10/04
- Stevensville, Maryland.
Brian Stevens, Gary
Graff, and Gib Devey
teamed up on Stevens'
20' Angler boat, the
After School, to catch
a 41.82 pound rockfish
on Saturday, the first
day of the Stars and
Stripers Classic to
hold on and in a new
Mercury outboard powered
Fountain boat complete
with a custom aluminum
Loadmaster Trailer valued
at over $60,000. The
After School team, hails
from Dunkirk, Maryland
caught and weighed their
striped bass in Chesapeake
Beach. "We fished
in an area by the power
plant on the eastern
shore," Said the
excited Stevens whose
son just happened to
be employed at Boater's
World headquarters in
Beltzville, MD. "We
had decided to pick
up and run in at two
o'clock but with nothing
to show for our efforts
I extended our time
by just a few minutes,"
said an excited Stevens.
"Our big fish hit
a big white shad in
47 feet of water at
2:05. The rest is history.
It was the biggest payday
of their lives and all
three on board vowed
to fish more events.
With a new 23' Fountain
center console that
was presented to them
by Boater's World VP,
Jay Jolly and Fountain
representative Chuck
Arnold, it should be
fairly easy. This is
the second year in a
row that a small boat
has won the top prize.
