Powerboats Hosts Fountain
University
Company Provides Ongoing
Educational Programs
for its Worldwide Dealer
Network
Washington,
NC - June 20, 2005 -
Fountain Powerboats,
Inc. (AMEX:FPB), a subsidiary
of Fountain Powerboat
Industries, Inc., and
leading manufacturer
of high performance
sport boats, sport fish
boats and express cruisers,
today announced the
successful completion
of the first session
of Fountain University
held at the company's
corporate facilities
in Washington, North
Carolina.

Retail
salespersons from around
the world were invited
to take part in a three-day
interactive product
and sales workshops
addressing subjects
such as How to Apply
Features and Benefits,
Selling in Today's Environment,
How to Overcome Objections
and Close the Sale,
How to Properly Deliver
a Boat, and much more.
The University program
also included in-water
high performance boat
training for all of
the students, as well
as an in depth plant
tour hosted by Fountain
Powerboats CEO and President,
Reggie Fountain. Fountain
partners such as Mercury
Marine, Polycor Resins,
G & T Vinyl, Interplastics
Resins, DIAB, and Sign
Zoo also took part by
holding classes based
on their specific products
and how they benefit
the production of each
Fountain boat.
"This
past year was the best
growth year in Fountain
Powerboats' history,"
commented Fountain.
"To continue this
impressive trend, I
felt it would be helpful
to provide training
programs for our dealer
network on the wide
variety of products
we are producing. There
are many features on
our boats that are proprietary
to Fountain Powerboats
and we want to ensure
that every single salesperson
in our dealer organization
is aware of them and
can share the features
and their benefits with
customers and potential
customers."
"We
have a strong dealer
organization and believe
this new program will
provide our dealers
the tools to quickly
and easily differentiate
Fountain's powerboats
from other products
in the market,"
said Fountain Powerboats
Executive Vice President
David Knight. "The
number of thank you
letters sent by participants
in the Fountain University
program was rewarding
to all members of our
management team. It
proves to us that this
was a much needed event
and one that we will
continue to build upon."
Fountain
University student Glenn
Stephenson, President
of American Performance
Marine in Annapolis,
Maryland, writes "I
cannot believe how much
information and training
you packed into the
2-1/2 day Fountain University
class
your investment
in this program will
pay off for Fountain
and for our dealership
and sales people!"
"Fountain
University was first
class all the way,"
said Kevin Lustig of
Lakeview Marina in Noblesville,
Indiana. "It was
refreshing to see a
company that is highly
motivated from the very
top down. The in-water
training, sales training,
and especially the feature
and benefit sections
and plant tour were
second to none."
Fountain
Director of Dealer Development,
Nick Miller, who hosted
the three-day event,
noted, "The future
of any company is decided
at the point of retail
interaction. Fountain
is far ahead of the
competition within the
marketplace, and holding
these University workshops
for its dealers' retail
salespeople indicates
that Fountain is not
only focused on building
the best boat, but also
on investing in the
future of its retailers
worldwide." According
to Miller, over 50 students
graduated from the first
session. The second
session, scheduled for
July 19-21, has approximately
75 students attending.
