Team Fountain Worldwide Extends World Championship Lead To 120 Points
August 26, 2007 - Cowes, England

Calm seas and clear skies ushered in the another exciting weekend of powerboat racing as over 80,000 spectators converged on the Isle of Wight to pay witness to one of professional boat racing’s most prestigious events.

In front of a hometown crowd, Team Fountain Worldwide / King of Shaves finished second in both stages of the British Grand Prix of the Sea, further increasing their lead for the title of  U.I.M World Champion by 120 points. The team led all seven laps of the initial stage of the race and later was forced to slow their pace during the second-stage circuit of the Isle of Wight to keep their average top speed in check. As most teams struggled with the compliance of this P-1 mandated average top speed restriction, Team Fountain Worldwide finished the Friday event in a full throttle head-to-head crowd pleaser befitting the American powerboat manufacturer they represent.

The second stage of the event on Sunday finished in much the same fashion as Fountain Worldwide lead the first three laps until noticing an unusual vibration prompting them to slow their pace slightly to minimize the risk of destroying their equipment. Despite suffering severe damage to one of their props the team finished strong in second place, earning Craig Wilson and James Sheppard and the fifth straight podium appearance in as many races.

On hand to witness the strong performances by Team Fountain Worldwide was Reggie Fountain, Chairman & CEO of Fountain Powerboats who felt it necessary to witness all of the excitement first hand.

“We were extremely honored to have Reggie as our guest here in Cowes and we are proud to display the excellence of the Fountain brand in front of our countrymen,” remarked Craig D. Wilson, President of Fountain Worldwide and throttleman for the Team Fountain Worldwide 40’ race boat.

The team now prepares for the final two events of the 2007 season
