to Cancun, Mexico

boat was a Fountain
48' Express Cruiser
with triple Yanmar 440-hp
diesels, with Arneson
surface drives. On board
the boat were Eric Colby,
Senior Technical Editor
of Boating Magazine,
Reggie Fountain, President/CEO
of Fountain Powerboats,
Scott Jennings, the
Captain for the new
owner, Leon Wollard,
Cruiser Supervisor at
Fountain Powerboats,
and Liberty Franklin,
who handled the logistics
of the run.
Departure
time was 08:07:37am
EST, upon leaving the
no-wake zone in Key
West Harbor. Arrival
time in to point off
island just north of
Cancun, which is the
entrance to the bay,
that Cancun is on, was
16:43:13pm EST, for
a total time of 8hrs-35min-76sec.
Mileage was 352 nautical,
405 statute, for an
average speed of 46.8
mph.
