2003- Fountain Powerboats
will host the second
Annual Pro-Am Race August
1-3 in Washington, NC
on the Pamlico River.
The competition offshore
race is set to begin
at 1 p.m. on Sunday,
August 3rd.
Festivities
begin Friday, August
1st at 7 a.m. with the
World Record Kilo Runs
where boats will run
to see 'who's the fastest'!
On Saturday there will
be all day testing for
boats with viewings
at Whichard's Beach.
The fun
kicks into high gear
with the free 'Party
in the Pits' beginning
at 7 p.m. on the Fountain
factory premises located
on Whichard's Beach
Road. The Fantastic
Shakers, top 40 and
beach music band, will
be performing at the
pit party where attendees
can purchase some great
food and beverages.
The public will have
an opportunity to meet
their favorite drivers
as well as get a close-up
view of the high performance
offshore powerboats.
The Fountain Sportswear
store will be open for
fans to purchase the
clothing all the drivers
wear.
The Pro-Am
Race on Sunday promises
to be an exciting event.
There will be boats
ranging from 24 to 40
feet and boats with
speeds in excess of
160 mph. Tune into WERO
93.3 FM and WDLX 93.0
AM for live coverage
of the event.
Whichard's
Beach offers the best
public viewing of the
race for a small fee.

front of Whichard's

awards ceremony will
take place Sunday at
the Fountain Powerboats
factory at 5 p.m.
